Waxing Pre & Post Care
Pre-Care:
Do not exfoliate for at least 48 hours before your appointment.
Avoid tweezing or shaving the brows before or after your appointment, if you have recently done so, wait 2-4 weeks before booking a wax
Refrain from the use of retinols, aha/bhas, glycolic or salicylic acid or any other form of topical chemical exfoliants for at least 2 weeks before your waxing appointment
Do not trim or pre-shape your eyebrows before your appointment, the fuller they are the better your wax will turn out
Do not book a waxing service for at least 10 days after a facial including any form of exfoliation
Bring picture examples of your desired brows if you want!
Post - Care:
Avoid manually exfoliating the brow area for a few days after your wax, waxing is a form of exfoliation itself, if you manually exfoliate after waxing you could cause a burn
Avoid retinol, glycolic, salicylic acid or any other chemical exfoliation for a week after your waxing service
Do not workout immediately after waxing, allow a few hours for the pores to close before sweating to avoid a skin reaction
Keep the skin clean and dry daily as the pores can fill easier with dirt and debris after a fresh wax, using a toner is recommended
Avoid heavy creams and ointments on the skin immediately after, unless instructed by your artist if treating any small areas
We do not recommend maintaining your freshly shaped brows at home, as it could regenerate the hair growth cycle and cause the hair to grow back in quicker. It is best to maintain your scheduled appointments every 4-6 weeks. Do not pick or tweeze the brows in-between visits
When should I not schedule a wax?
Recent (2 weeks) use of retinols, glycolic, salicylic or any other topical exfoliant
Accutane for at least 1 year after you’ve stopped use. You may schedule a brow tweeze as an alternative option.
Facial treatments including exfoliation such as microdermabrasion or dermaplaning within the last 10 days.
Sensitive or thin skin that is prone to lifting should be waxed with our hard wax option or choose our tweezing option
Tweezing or shaving same week as your scheduled appointment, you may be asked to reschedule at a later time to allow the hair to grow in
